Classes are usually open classes, meaning all levels welcome, unless otherwise stated. You should wear comfortable clothing. It is also recommended that you avoid eating at least 2 hours before class.
Even in a group class, students may be given different adaptations. This not only accommodates the needs of beginners and those with injuries, it also allows the more experienced students to go deeper.
Mediatation classes: use meditation music and breathing techniques from OmofGong albums.
Discover Yoga / Healthy Back
Class for beginning students. Stabilize, strengthen and maintain a healthy back through gentle therapeutic adaptations of postures. This class also welcomes pre-natal.
Appropriate for all levels: breath, movement, relaxation, adapted for all.
Intermediate / Advanced
Deepen your practice by exploring advanced postures and pranayama (breathing techniques). Tools such as sound and chanting may be used. We also use recent music to meditate and relax with very slow and relaxed breathing that improve mindfulness and self-control.
45 minute open class relieves stress and tension in back, neck and shoulders. Return to work feeling relaxed and refreshed.
Conscious Self Care
Join a group of proactive, fun, inquisitive, overwhelmed women who are ready to learn how, or upgrade their skills, to nurture themselves. Come to the weekly sessions to boost your enthusiasm and willingness to take premium care of your magnificent self. Learn more about you and gain the tools that will be effective and lasting. Mindful meditation is a part of our programs. Sharron Phillips is the facilitator.
Feldenkrais Awareness Through Movement
Students are guided through a series of easy, gently sequences that bring awareness to small movements. Ideal for any age group or any level of physical ability or disability. Monday evening class – ongoing.

How to Lose Weight with Yoga
It is strongly believed that doing yoga will do anyone good. For one, you could lose weight with yoga. The results could vary though, as weight
loss depends on the type of yoga that you practice. Yoga can make you lose weight because it makes you aware about your mind and body. When you
become more aware about your body, this could include your awareness of the types of food that you eat. You become wiser when it comes to the
choice of food that you put inside your body. To the point that some people believe that it is not really exercise that makes you lose weight,
but the awareness and the principles of constantly practicing.
Doing yoga could do well for all programs for weight loss.
While it is acceptable that yoga alone does not make you lose weight, you cannot disregard
the fact that it does help you lose weight. The benefits that yoga provides will help you lose weight a lot faster. Doing yoga allows you to build
muscles, improve your metabolic rate to help the body burn more calories. It also creates a positive effect on the person; yoga helps the person
learn to accept his body for what it is.
While yoga alone does not provide significant weight loss despite that doing it still burns calories, it still helps a person lose weight faster
and more effectively. Needless to say, yoga could be a contributing factor to any program for weight loss. It helps you build muscles which in turn
make you burn more calories. As you burn more calories, you tend to lose more weight. Yoga helps strengthen your body, become more flexible, improves
your endurance level, and increases your metabolic rate.
With yoga, a person increases his understanding of his body and its needs. This increase in self-awareness will make the person make better choices
of foods, being more considerate of what could harm his body and what could make the body healthy. You learn to love yourself, your body and you
learn to properly take care of it. But more importantly, with yoga, you just do not improve your physical aspect; you also improve your mental
abilities. You can think better. You can have better control of yourself; your mind and body.
For people who want to incorporate yoga into their weight
loss program, you should know that the most effective types are the Ashtanga Yoga and
Power Yoga. While they help you build more muscles, both types offer aerobic benefits. While Ashtanga is the easiest type to do, you do not need
to have an instructor to help you do it. Power Yoga, on the other hand, incorporates Kundalini breathing exercises with rigid yoga poses that would
surely help build more muscles and allow you to burn more calories by speeding up your metabolic rate.
Simple as it may seem, doing Yoga is not a simple thing. They could be really strenuous to your body, especially if you are a beginner. You will be
more comfortable to start with the flow course Vinyasa. Power yoga is for the more advanced yoga practitioners. In Vinyasa flow, there is constant
movement. It promotes an aerobic exercise that will build muscle endurance. This is a simple practice that would help condition our body for more
complex poses like that of Ashtanga and Power yoga. With yoga, you also develop patience that would help you reach your weight loss goal more
